Our Story

GALA was born out of love, frustration, and an unshakable sense of purpose.

It started when I found myself in a familiar yet overwhelming position—trying to support my grandmother's care from afar while juggling a demanding career in management consulting and raising two young children. Despite all my education and resources, I was utterly lost. I bounced from website to website, phone call to phone call, trying to piece together a fragmented system that felt like it wasn't built for families like mine.

And I kept asking myself: Why is this so hard?

That question became the seed of GALA.

As I left corporate life to pursue something more meaningful, I started talking to people—caregivers, nurses, home operators, older adults—anyone who had navigated the elder care space. What I heard echoed my own experience: confusion, emotional fatigue, decision paralysis, and a deep desire for guidance.

Those conversations turned into over 50 formal interviews. Each one validated the same truth: elder care navigation is broken. And families are bearing the brunt.

So we decided to reimagine it.

At GALA—Golden Age & Living Ability—we are rebuilding the model from the ground up. Our vision is to make navigating elder care simple, transparent, and even—believe it or not—something to celebrate.

This journey won't be easy. But we are committed to co-designing our platform with the very people who need it most, so GALA becomes not just a tool, but a trusted partner.

Because everyone deserves clarity, compassion, and dignity as they care for the people they love.
